According to the class 3 reading, “Anatomy of a Crime Lab: Winning Convictions ‘On the Cheap’ (2020), why did the New Orleans Police Drug Crime Lab engage in shoddy forensic science that wasn’t capable of accurately determining whether seized evidence was or was not an illegal substance? The investigative story points to problems with the scientific analysis of the seized evidence process, but also analyzes why bad science had to occur in this lab. Describe in your own words why the article concludes that bad forensic science is a predictable outcome of the war against drugs and not just a mistake.
